I carefully measured my head and ordered a medium. It feels a little big, but I am pretty sure a small would have been too small. Out of the box a helmet should fit tight and form itself to your head as you wear it. That said, it's not too bad and I'll be able to use it. I have essentially the same helmet from about 10 years ago, it fits better and I like the chin strap better but it's worn out. The cheap buckle on the chinstrap on this helmet is difficult to fasten, especially with gloves on, and doesn't want to release easily, I think because they didn't bother to smooth the metal edges, I may take a stone to those and see if I can fix that. All that aside, you can't hardly pay less for a helmet and this will hopefully keep my skull intact if a little old lady rear-ends me, if I really thought I'd crash at speed I'd wear a full face and full leathers and I don't. This helmet looks OK and doesn't lift in the wind, so it meets my expectations.

The size chart was not accurate and I needed to exchange the helmet because it was too large.

Not low profile mushroom head . And larger . But you get whut you pay for

fits a little tight front and back, but i do have a very round head.
