Excellent helmet! Looks nice and is very comfortable to wear. Sometimes a L is slightly too big for me, but this L fits like a glove. I love how easy the darkening shield is to operate! There is absolutely no distortion in either the outside clear shield or the inner darkening shield. My eyes are real sensitive to bright light, so I went to my local motorcycle dealer and ordered a darker smoke inner shield than what came with the helmet. I was pleased that HJC makes one!

The HJC IS-MAX BT Modular Anthracite Helmet is an excellent helmet! It's my third HJC helmet purchased from LeatherUP and each one just serves me better than the last!
Buyers really need to consider their size though! Per the chart, my 7 1/8 hat size requires a medium helmet.
I like a good tight fit, so I wasn't disappointed to find my CL MAX very snug. When I bought the IS-32, I got the large size. It fit looser, but still very comfortable and secure. That said, this HJC IS-MAX BT is quite tight in a large. Folks have commented that it is tight in the cheeks and I have to agree. Nearly painful!
Other than that, this is an excellent helmet! Everything works well. the visor is clear, the sun shield is dark and the moving parts are very easy to operate even with bulky gloves on. Ventilarion in my ohter two helmets has been great, but so far i've only owned this during the winter months. And by the way, I ride 60 miles r/t everday, so comfort is important. Again, you can't beat this line of helmets OR LeatherUp.com. And NO, I don't work for either of them. :) Walt Hall - Alvarado, TX

Overall I like the helmet. For the most part it fits my thick skull pretty well with the only negative being that it does fit a bit close to the chin. The only other downside is that it is noisier than my full-face helmet but that is easily overcome by wearing my earplugs more often, something I should be doing anyway so that negative turns into a positive.
Would I recommend the helmet to others? Yes if that's what your budget allows.
